My Christmas Card Photo!

Cynthia came by Down Memory Lane today and mentioned I really needed to update my blog. She is a long lost DML employee who now has a real "grownup" teaching job in Midland/Odessa and it was so good to see her! Anyway, she's right...so here's one of my favorite pictures I took in Mexico, where we spent a whole week in Playa Del Carmen. We got back just a few days before Hurricane Dolly hit (whew!).

We had a great time and I'll try and post more before next October...

New glasses, Girl Scouts, and Frenship football

Last week was ca-razy around here! We keep a calendar on the fridge, and there wasn't a blank space visible for last week. Every day was full with at least two or three things to do. This week has calmed down some though. Sarah got glasses for school and reading...she got really cute frames and looks adorable in them, I think! She also "flew up" from Brownies to Junior Girl Scouts on Monday. She's got her green sash and everything. Tim attached her first badges on and she's all set now. Nut sales are just a week or so away...we'll be in touch!

Drew has been busy with football and the church youth group. His football team is undefeated so far, with two more games to go! The pictures here are from Tuesday's game against Terra Vista, the other Frenship junior high. They were the toughest team we've played, so good news for the high school in a few years! This past Sunday, his youth group carved pumpkins and I forgot the camera because it was our Sunday to serve/cook the meal for the kids. We served I don't know how many gallons of chili with fritos, rice, cheese, etc. We had a little incident on the way home, when we discovered that one very large Ziploc bag of leftover chili had spilled all over the back of my mom's Suburban...all I can say is, it's a good thing for rubber floor mats!

I'm off to scrapbook retreat this weekend with 45 women. We're going to a guest ranch in Snyder. Will post pictures next week!

Homecoming

Friday was the Frenship Homecoming game. We played San Angelo Lake View and beat them 49-14. The game itself was kind of boring, but the kids had fun! It's different here because the football games are BIG social events for kids. And I'm not just talking about high school kids...kindergarteners show up to the Frenship games with their school shirts, paw print tattoos, etc. There are little kids running around everywhere....boys playing football, girls going around in their little "groups". It's crazy. So, of course, at the Homecoming game, kids of all ages were sporting mums! Can you believe?

Anyway, Drew invited his friend Makenzi...they did the mum/garter thing. (so cute) Mom and Ron met us at Garcia's before the game. He finally got to put those Cotillion classes to good use! Tim had to get to the game early since he's the football administrator, and he took the girls, Sarah and two friends. Stormy's mom ordered them mums too, so they were very excited to show them off at the game. They thought they were somethin'!

In other news, Drew caught his first pass in last Thursday's 7th grade game! He fell down on the third yd line...so close! Will post pictures of his next game this week...I think the game's on Thursday.
